Many of the applications of our parts are determined by the body style of the car. This information is coded on the plate mounted to the firewall or doorpost of your car. Packard used several different styles of codes over the years. The key identifying number on your vehicle is the 4 digit Body Style Number. For instance, 1950-56 Packards utilize the first 4 digits of the vehicle number as the Body Style Number. Packards from 1937-1956 use a 4 digit Body Style Number and 1932-36 models use a 3 digit number.
This is an example from a 1951 Packard.  The "24" identifies it as a 1951 model and the "2" tells us it is a 4 door sedan.
